PIKE RIVER MINE

On November 19 2010... 29 men got ready for work... 29 lunches were packed... 29 pairs of boots were strapped up... 29 hard hats were donned... and 29 goodbyes were said. Unfortunately... for these 29... they would never ever return. A gas leak... a huge explosion... and 29 men perish... 29 lives lost... 29 families grieve... and 29 tragic stories left unfinished in the cold, dark depths of Pike River Mine.

Yesterday Police announced... that no-one was at fault... no one is accountable... and no one will answer for the deaths of these men. The cries for a corporate manslaughter law grow louder and louder.

Despite the massive loss of life... no one is responsible... HOW CAN THAT BE? ....HOW CAN THE MINING COMPANY GET AWAY WITH THAT? At the very least... the 29 dead men... the 29 families... and the 29 tragic stories... deserve closure... they deserve a proper send off... and they deserve to finally take their work boots off...
TOITU TE MAUMAHARA... MAURI MATE... MAURI ORA...
